Silk Road Resort 　 　The “Silk Road Resort”, located in Nanshan scenic spot, is 38 km away from Urumqi with an area of 7196 mu. The 1 billion RMB for the first-phase construction of this project is jointly invested by Xinjiang GrandScape Group , Hong Kong Zhongtuo Group and the Metropolis Group of Canada. The projects confirmed to be constructed include: skiing, grass-skiing, hot-air balloon sports, parasail, horse-racing field, forest cross-country, zoo of wild animals, airport of helicopter, expansion training, five-star club and hotel, etc. All the above have been listed in the key-project list of the Region. 　　In the early morning of Jan.24, 2004(namely the third day of the first month of Chinese lunar new year), the Regional and Municipal leaders such as Mr. Yang Gang, secretary of the Urumqi Municipal Committee, member of the Region’s Party Standing Committee, Mr. Zhang Zhou, vice governor of the Region, Mr. He Yiming, vice secretary of the Urumqi Municipal Committee, Mr. Wang Zhongxiao, member of the Municipal Standing Committee made on-the-spot investigation of the “Silk Road Resort”. 　　On Feb. 4, 2004, Mr. Zhu Youlin, executive president of the Metropolis Group of Canada, Mr. Duan Dongfang, special assistant of the general manager of China Travel Huanshi Network Service Co., Ltd and their party paid on-the-spot investigation of the “Silk Road Resort”.
